Campaign organiser training

We run a series of online training modules on campaign organising. These modules are for activists who would like to spend some more time delving into organising skills.

1. Exiting Campaigns

We'll look at what winning looks like and take a look at how campaigns come to a close, what we can learn from them and how we can support each other's wellbeing as activists through the process.

1. Getting Climate Action in Wales: how to campaign in the Senedd elections

The 2021 Senedd Elections will set the course of climate action in Wales for the next 5 years, with all 60 seats up for election. This makes it a crucial moment. Come and find out about how you can get involved with the campaign to make acting on the climate emergency a priority in Wales and how to get commitments from the candidates standing. This training is for Climate Action groups and local groups, and anyone wishing to work on this campaign in Wales.

2. How to lobby your council election candidates

This training is for groups who will be meeting with candidates in the lead up to the council elections in May. We’ve teamed up with Hope for the Future to support you in making the most out of your meeting. We’ll talk you through finding common ground with your candidates, framing your "ask" in an appealing way and persuasive conversation techniques you can use. This training is for Climate Action groups and local groups.

3. Social media and the May elections

These training sessions are for members who will be managing their group's social media during the May elections campaign. Over the two sessions we'll look at how you can use social media to run an effective and impactful campaign. We recommend you attend both sessions, but you don't have to.

4. How to get your council to adopt a Climate Action Plan

This is a three-part course for groups campaigning for Climate Action Plans from their council. Join us to discuss how to develop a winning strategy and learn how to build power in your community. Spaces for this course are limited so book early and please ensure you can attend all sessions before applying.

5. Building people power and engaging the public

The strength of our network lies in the amazing people in our groups, and to make real impact and win campaigns, we need more of them on the ground. In this training session we will share some basic marketing principles and useful tactics to help you engage with your local community and recruit new members into your group. This session is for Local Groups and Climate Action Groups. A recording will be made available for anyone who can't join.

6. Engaging a digital audience

Apply for a place on our new digital training course. The course is aimed at groups who already have (or want to build) an email list, or want to use online actions as part of a campaign. We'll cover best practice, showcase successful examples and help you make your emails and petitions interesting and fun. This training is for Climate Action groups and local groups.

7. Using social media to campaign

Register your interest in our new social media training course. This course is aimed at groups who want to grow their social media presence and explore how to measure their impact. We'll look at Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and delve into best practice for posting content, paid promotion and analytics. This training is for Climate Action groups and local groups.
